On a bed so bright,
You shall see her there,
A gleaming goddess, fading with the night.
With skin so white or pearly blue
The dewdrops make her shine.
But as the stars fall, she leaves this world behind.
The moon will come again to play
And out her arms will stretch.
To find the crisp night’s air
that daylight long since left.
With a sweet scent and soft skin
She grows older by the hour.
Time goes fast and life is short
for the lonely night blooming flower.
