Through out the last few years, my family has enjoyed the adventures of our elf, Jingle Bells! I wanted to capture a few of his antics to share with you. Jingle Bells joined our family and soon started reeking havoc all over our house! He even came with a suitcase of clothes. Jingle Bells seems to be attracted to shiny objects- whether they be bath beads or lights on the Christmas tree. He also loves to find nooks and crannies to hide or a place to just hang out! This year, Jingle Bells even tried to disguise himself by sneaking into the play mustaches! We weren't fooled though! Our elf also loves to play with toys and is always up for building a snowman (even when there isn't any snow outside)! Our elf will always find a way to entertain us! I would love to hear what kind of trouble your elf has gotten into this year! What are you favorite elf antics? Jingle Bells is always looking for interesting ways to get into trouble! Thank you for reading, Happy Holidays!

What’s a meme you may ask? A meme, according to the dictionary, is an element of a culture or system or behavior that is passed from one individual to another by means of technology or imitation. They are usually humorous in nature, including a bit of text and an image or video. These memes are then rapidly spread across the internet like wildfire! With that in mind, what makes a good meme? Is it grumpy animals, famous stars, or just ridiculous images of randomness? Meme have exploded on the internet from Trump to moths, from Fortnite to Mickey Mouse. You can literally make a meme out of just about any image! Let’s take a look at some memes I find entertaining, because let’s face it- entertainment is the name of the game here. A meme for the New Year: Teacher Memes: Mom memes: Memes for Dads: Memes for gamers: Political Memes (*please note there is not a political agenda here, just meme fun): And a few of my favorites from 2019: because who could forget the woman yelling vs. cat memes! Fell free to leave me a message below with your favorite meme! Happy memeing!
Interior design has been around for as long as people have. People inheritably want to surround themselves with fun and interesting things. Some people aim for calm, neutral colors. Others surround themselves with the bright and vivid! It seems logical that some of us wish to create a steampunk themed home décor. From home furniture, to paint styles to decorations, there is so much you can do to get just the look you desire. Some common materials used to create these steampunk effects are copper, bronze, and other metallic paints and colors. Dark woods and leathers can also help to enhance the steampunk feel. Finding Victorian furniture, bookcases, desks, and cabinets will also kick it up a notch! We are looking to create that industrial aesthetic of the steampunk genre. Steampunk Bathroom: To give your bathroom that next step up, add some exposed copper or bronze piping. Allow the piping system to be part of the décor. If you can find a copper stand alone bathtub, that will also add an extra something to the situation. When in doubt, you can always add the steampunk feel with some paint and rivets (knobs, bolts, etc.). Steampunk Bedroom: There are several interesting bed frames that can be both enhanced or handcrafted. Whether you are looking for a kid's room, spare bedroom, or your own master bedroom, there are a lot of options. How about adding some decals or wooden painted cogs and gears to the wall to help bring out the colors of the room. Brass lighting systems or interesting hanging lamps can also help tweak the room to your specifications. Need a final touch? Something still missing? Try adding a steampunk clock! Steampunk Living room: The thing I love best about steampunk is that you can get a look that is customizable to your own personality. If you like the subtle hints of steampunk and wish for a lighter atmosphere, check out lighter colors mixed with darker woods. Adding a few hints here and there of Victorian décor will help round off your design. If you are looking for a bold, rich copper-colored living room. Rich leather furniture mixed with an industrial looking fireplace can add just the right amount of flavor. There are a variety of end tables, cabinets, and shelving that can add to any design. Not finding what you want, maybe try to add a steamer trunk as both storage and a coffee table. Give it that extra feel by mixing things up. Miscellaneous Décor Ideas: Steampunk bleeds over into so many other genres that the possibilities really are endless. There are pictures and paintings, end tables and dinning tables, as well as a variety of lighting fixtures. Looking to add a bar to your man cave? Give some liquid bottle lights a try. It can really give you that industrial look while adding something your friends will want to comment on! My favorite additions are all the different styles of bookcases! You can never have too many books (in my opinion) and you will need a place to put them. Even with the technology age being what it is, I still find I need a good paperback book from time to time! On a bed so bright, You shall see her there, A gleaming goddess, fading with the night. With skin so white or pearly blue The dewdrops make her shine. But as the stars fall, she leaves this world behind. The moon will come again to play And out her arms will stretch. To find the crisp night’s air that daylight long since left. With a sweet scent and soft skin She grows older by the hour. Time goes fast and life is short for the lonely night blooming flower. (Jasmine was originally publishing under: M. Leigh) As I was shopping for clothes the other day, something I loathe to do, I realized nothing in the store fit me! What happened to normal sized clothes? I don’t have the body type to wear skinny jeans or jeggings, and was disappointed that this was all I found. On my hunt for regular jeans, I ended up in the men’s section. This got me thinking about body image in today’s society. I found three interesting article that I wanted to share about positive body image! I’m realistic enough to say I know that body image and sexual appeal sells in today’s market. I came across an interesting article called, These Ad Execs Got Naked. (Link: http://performinsider.com/2015/03/the-ad-execs-got-naked-nsfw/) This is not the only company to use these tactic. I found it interesting that they had to work out and get into shape for the shoot, including using trainers seven days a week for both cardio and weight training. Let’s face it, no one wants to buy average! These executives even changed up their diets. Putting in the extra hours, appears to have paid off for them! It just shows, if you want to change how your body looks you can be in control. After reading this article, I decided to google plus sized models. Most plus sized models are NOT plus sized. However, I did run across a plus sized model named Tess Holliday. Tess is a size 22 social media model. She is breaking through the stigma that you must be a size 0-4 to be a super model. Because of women like Tess, modeling plus sizes has expanded from size 5! For more information about Tess, click here: http://www.people.com/people/package/article/0,,20922588_20924506,00.html So how to you gain the confidence that Tess and other woman have? You make the choice to! I know that this is easier said than done. The third article I have for you is, Here’s What Happens When Women Decide to Call Themselves Beautiful (Link: http://time.com/3773858/dove-choose-beautiful-average-door/). The premise behind this article is quite simple but powerful: which door would you chose to walk through, “Beautiful” or “Average”. People’s reactions were the best part of this video for me. I could easily see myself falling through either door. I know for me personally feeling beautiful has nothing to do with my body shape. I have a wonderful support system, and as I struggle at time to find comfort in my own skin, I know I have people to lean on. Knowing I’m not alone in this struggle is one of the best reinforcements. To everyone reading, strive to find what makes you feel beautiful! If you feel it, you will be it! Please feel free to leave a comment below of any of the above topics, or any ways that could help others feel beautiful in their own skin! As always, thank you for reading!

I am an inspired soul who loves to write and take photographs. I read and write constantly and have been inspired by many people throughout my life. I grew up reading everything I could get my hands on but my favorites were always R.L. Stine and L.J. Smith (prior to the Vampire Diaries). I have composed many things through the past several years and would like to use this blog as a way to share some of them with you (both new and old writings). I would love feedback both positive and negative to help me improve my writing. Thank you for following this blog. Archives
